Kuwait Court Sentences Kuwaiti Doctor to Two Years in Prison for Drug Use

KUWAIT CITY, Aug. 17:  Kuwait’s Criminal Court, presided over by Counselor Nayef Al-Dahoum, has sentenced a Kuwaiti doctor to two years in prison and a KD 2,000 fine for using mind-altering substances.

The doctor was arrested in connection with a money laundering investigation, during which authorities uncovered evidence of drug use, according to the case details.

The court also sentenced the doctor’s friend to two years in prison and a KD 2,000 fine for cocaine use. In addition, the friend was fined KD 150 for assisting the first defendant in evading justice.

The verdict was issued after the court reviewed the evidence presented in the case and determined the defendants’ involvement in the offenses.
