Kuwait Court Sentences Egyptian Accountant to 10 Years in Prison Over Forged Checks

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 17: The Court of Cassation, chaired by Counselor Saleh Al-Muraished, has sentenced an Egyptian accountant working for a newspaper affiliated with Kuwait University to 10 years in prison and a fine of KD107,000 in a financial fraud case.

According to the case details, the accountant was found guilty of misappropriating more than KD35,000 by altering beneficiary names and forging checks.

The court's ruling follows proceedings over the alleged manipulation of financial documents and unauthorized diversion of funds. The defendant was sentenced to imprisonment and fined KD107,000 after the case reached the Court of Cassation.

The ruling is the final judgment in the case.
