Kuwait Court Reinstates Citizens’ Right to Investigator Post After 10-Year Battle

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 15: After a decade of legal battles, the Administrative Court of Cassation has issued a final ruling to overturn a previously appealed judgment and cancel the administrative authority’s decision to exclude a citizen from an appointment. The ruling confirms the citizen’s right to the position of “investigator” at the General Directorate of Investigations in the Ministry of Interior.

This decision concludes a long-running dispute in which the appellant, represented by Lawyer Mohammed Al-Ansari, proved that the administrative authority’s actions were unlawful and violated the principle of equal opportunity in the appointment process. Speaking to the Arab Times, Lawyer Al-Ansari stated that the Court of Cassation reaffirmed the responsibility of administrative bodies to follow the rules governing fair and transparent recruitment, adding that the unjustified exclusion of his client constituted a legal violation that required the decision to be overturned.
