Kuwait Court Overturns Prison Term in Boarding Pass Forgery Case

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 10: The Court of Appeals overturned a five-year prison sentence issued against a citizen, and acquitted him of charges of forging an official document (airport departure records) and a private document (boarding pass). The investigating officer testified that undercover investigations had revealed the defendant’s presence with the main suspect in the airport departure area, while the suspect was using another person’s passport and attempting to involve him in the forgery. The defendants were referred to the Public Prosecution. During the court session, Lawyer Waleed Masoud who represented the citizen, stated that there was no forgery or criminal intent and emphasized that his client was unaware of any fraudulent activity. He stressed that merely being present at the scene does not constitute evidence of participation or complicity
