KUWAIT CITY, Sept 17: The Criminal Court has sentenced the chairman of a cooperative society’s board of directors to four years in prison with hard labor and fined him KD25,000 in a corruption-related case.

The court also ordered the confiscation of KD 46,000 from the defendant. He was referred to trial after the Public Prosecution charged him with money laundering, abuse of power, causing serious damage to the society’s funds and interests, and unlawfully obtaining personal benefits through the society’s dealings with suppliers.
