2 expatriates get 5 and 10 years for judicial tampering and blood sample falsification

The Court of Appeal issued its first rulings in the name of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad.

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 21: The Court of Appeal, led by Counselor Nasr Al-Heid, delivered its inaugural verdict in the name of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The appeal determined a 5-year imprisonment for an expatriate, employed in the Public Prosecution, on charges of manipulating judicial rulings and inputting inaccurate data to release defendants. The manipulation aimed to deceive them into believing that favorable rulings were issued in exchange for bribes.

Additionally, the court sentenced another expatriate to 10 years in prison for involvement in tampering and falsifying blood samples used for analyzing chronic diseases. This illegal activity was carried out in exchange for a bribe from expatriates involved in residency transactions.

The accused, who was initially convicted in absentia, received the same penalties, with the court affirming the previous ruling after the Appeals court had earlier sentenced three of them (the main accused employees) to 10 years of hard labor in their presence. The Supreme Judicial Council extends its congratulations to His Highness the Amir for upholding the values of reform, purity, and justice.
