KUWAIT CITY, Sept 25: The Misdemeanor Appellate Court in Kuwait has acquitted a Kuwaiti citizen who had been convicted of violating quarantine procedures imposed on incoming travelers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The court overturned the earlier ruling and cancelled a KD500 fine imposed on the citizen following a defense presented by lawyer Yusuf Al-Mutawa.
The case involved allegations that the citizen had breached quarantine requirements applicable to travelers arriving in Kuwait during the coronavirus pandemic.
The appellate ruling clears the citizen of the violation and removes the financial penalty previously imposed in the case.
