KUWAIT CITY, July 29: An Iraqi woman has been arrested in Kuwait after allegedly posing as a spiritual healer and exploiting vulnerable individuals through black magic and sorcery in exchange for money.

The General Department of Criminal Investigation, under the Ministry of Interior's Financial Crimes Division, apprehended the woman — identified as Iman Abdul Karim Abboud Kazim — during a carefully coordinated sting operation in the Adan area. Authorities say she falsely claimed to possess supernatural powers and the ability to solve people’s personal, financial, and family problems by performing rituals and predicting the unseen. Victims, desperate for solutions, paid her sums of money in the belief that she could change their fate.

Investigators launched the operation after receiving confirmed intelligence about her illicit activities. Following a period of surveillance, officers obtained a legal warrant and set a trap that led to her dramatic arrest. When apprehended, the accused was found in possession of various items used in sorcery, including amulets, ritual papers, herbal oils, padlocks, and talismans, allegedly used to convince her victims of her so-called powers.

She and the confiscated materials have since been handed over to the appropriate legal authorities for further action. The Ministry of Interior has urged the public not to fall for such fraudulent and illegal practices, warning that anyone involved in harming society through deception or superstition will be brought to justice. It also encouraged citizens and residents to report similar cases through official channels.
