Kuwait continues impressive run at Asian Shooting Championship

ASTANA, Aug 25: Kuwait’s national shooting team continued its impressive run at the 16th Asian Shooting Championship in Kazakhstan, securing a gold and a bronze medal yesterday to bring the country’s total haul to five medals: two golds, one silver, and two bronzes.

The gold medal came in the men’s team trap shooting event, with shooters Nasser Al-Muqalled, Talal Al-Tarqi, and Abdulrahman Al-Faihan leading the team to first place. In the women’s category, Kuwaiti shooters Hawal, Sara Al-Hawal, and Reem Al-Zamanan earned the bronze medal, finishing third behind India (gold) and China (silver).

Obeid Al-Osaimi, head of the delegation and Secretary-General of the Shooting Club, praised the athletes for their dedication and high spirit, noting that their performance reflects Kuwait’s growing leadership in shooting at regional, continental, international, and Olympic levels.

Al-Osaimi dedicated the victories to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the government, the people of Kuwait, and the entire Kuwaiti shooting community.

He emphasized that the club will continue working to maintain Kuwait’s success in shooting sports, benefiting from strong support from the country’s leadership and government.
