Kuwaiti winning team on the stands
For the second day in a row, the Kuwaiti disabled athletics team on Friday continued bagging medals at the World Para Athletics Grand Prix in Tunis City. Kuwaiti athlete Youssef Al-Harbi won the gold medal in the long jump, Nawaf Al-Shemmeri got the gold in the javelin, his brother Nayef obtained the silver in the same contest and Abdullah Al-Fadhli won the bronze in the 200 meters race.Faisal Al-Rajhi won the silver medal in the 100 meters t54- category event, while Fahad Al- Mowaizri got the silver in the 100 meters in t52 category. Kuwait’s Ambassador to Tunisia Ali Al-Dhefeeri lauded performance of athletes who could bag more medals at this event.In a statement to KUNA, the ambassador stressed that Kuwait’s political leadership is paying much attention to, and caring for, the disabled in order to integrate them into the society. As a result of this care, Kuwait was a first country in the region that established the Supreme Council for Disabled Affairs and the Public Authority for The Disabled. (KUNA)
