Kuwait Confirms Adequate Food Supplies and Price Control Amid Inspections

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 8: The Ministry of Commerce, through its Commercial Authority and Consumer Protection Department, has confirmed its ongoing commitment to conducting inspection tours of food warehouses in the coming phase, as part of efforts to enhance food security in the country.

During an inspection tour of food warehouses in the Shuwaikh Industrial Area, Director of Consumer Protection Faisal Al-Ansari told Al-Akhbar channel that preparations were reassuring, with inspections ensuring that essential food supplies for consumers were adequately stocked.

Al-Ansari further stated that trade inspectors had visited the wholesale district in Shuwaikh, a critical hub for the food supply chain. There, they obtained commitments from food company owners to adhere to set prices and avoid any price changes given the current circumstances.

Additionally, Muhammad Al-Mutairi, head of the joint committee team in the Commercial Control and Consumer Protection Department, confirmed the safety and availability of the country’s strategic stock of food commodities.
