Kuwait Condemns Restrictions on Worship in Jerusalem

KUWAIT CITY, Mar 31: The Kuwait Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed Kuwait’s strong condemnation and rejection of the ongoing restrictions imposed on freedom of worship in occupied Jerusalem, including measures preventing worshippers from accessing the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the broader Noble Sanctuary.

The ministry also condemned restrictions preventing the Latin Patriarch in Jerusalem and the Custodian of the Holy Land from entering the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, describing the actions as a violation of international agreements and conventions guaranteeing freedom of worship for all religions.

Kuwait stressed that Al-Aqsa Mosque is exclusively for Muslims, and reaffirmed that the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites is the legally authorized body responsible for administering the Noble Sanctuary.

The statement urged the international community and members of the UN Security Council to assume their responsibilities and take a firm stance against what it described as violations at religious sites, warning against actions that provoke worshippers and undermine the rights of believers.

Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre were highlighted as key religious sites at the center of the concerns raised in the statement.
