Kuwait condemns Israeli prime minister’s entry into Syrian territory

KUWAIT CITY, Sep 10: The State of Kuwait has strongly condemned the entry of the Israeli prime minister into Syrian territory, describing the move as a flagrant violation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and a breach of international law.

In a statement issued Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the continued incursions and acts of aggression by the Israeli occupation within Syrian territory represent a dangerous escalation that threatens security and stability in the region.

Kuwait reaffirmed its full support for the independence of the Syrian Arab Republic and its sovereignty over all its territories.

The Foreign Ministry also called on the United Nations Security Council to assume its responsibilities by working to halt the Israeli actions and ensure compliance with relevant international legitimacy resolutions.

Kuwait further stressed the importance of respecting the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, which governs the separation of Israeli and Syrian forces in the Golan Heights area.

The ministry reiterated Kuwait’s position in support of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, while urging international efforts to prevent further escalation and preserve regional security and stability.
