KUWAIT CITY, Jul 13: Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday strongly condemned what it described as Iran's "heinous aggression" and attacks carried out by Iran and Iran-backed factions and militias in Iraq against the State of Kuwait.

In a statement, the ministry said the attacks targeted several border posts and an offshore drilling rigs belonging to the Kuwait Oil Company, resulting in injuries and material damage.

The ministry said the continued attacks constitute a flagrant violation of Kuwait's sovereignty, threaten the safety of citizens and residents, and undermine regional and international efforts to promote security and stability. It also described the attacks as a violation of international legitimacy and UN Security Council Resolution 2817 of 2026.

Kuwait reaffirmed its inherent right to take any measures it deems necessary to protect its sovereignty, security, and stability in accordance with international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
