Kuwait Condemns Iran-Linked Drone Attacks on Vital Facilities

KUWAIT CITY, Apr 10: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned what it described as “heinous attacks” carried out by Iran and its affiliated groups, including militias and armed factions, targeting vital facilities in Kuwait using drones on the evening of April 9, 2026.

In an official statement, Kuwait said the attacks constitute a flagrant violation of its sovereignty and airspace, as well as a serious breach of international law, international humanitarian law, and the United Nations Charter. The ministry warned that continued attacks by Iran and its proxies undermine recent regional and international efforts, including the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, and represent a direct challenge to the international community.

Kuwait called for the immediate and unconditional cessation of all hostile acts in line with UN Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026), urging accountability and adherence to international obligations. The ministry also reaffirmed Kuwait’s full right to self-defense under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, stressing that the country will take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty, security, and stability.
