KUWAIT CITY, Sept 16: The State of Kuwait has strongly condemned an attempt by the Houthi militia to target Mecca Al-Mukarramah with a drone.
In a statement issued Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the attempt as a “cowardly and reprehensible act” that violates the sanctity of the Muslims’ Qibla, disregards its religious status and affronts the sentiments of Muslims.
Kuwait affirmed its absolute solidarity with Saudi Arabia and support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its sovereignty and security, protect the Two Holy Mosques and preserve their sanctity.
The ministry also commended the vigilance and efficiency of the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces in confronting the attempt.
It stressed that the security of Saudi Arabia is an inseparable part of the security of Kuwait and the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council states.
