KUWAIT CITY, Oct 12: Kuwait on Monday strongly condemned the ongoing attacks by the Houthi militia against Saudi Arabia, including the latest strikes targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and King Fahd International Airport in Dammam on October 11.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the attacks as terrorist and criminal acts that violated Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and breached international law and international humanitarian law.
The ministry said the attack on King Khalid International Airport resulted in the death of one resident and injuries to others, in addition to material damage.
It warned that the escalating targeting of civilian airports and vital facilities posed a serious threat to civilian lives and the safety of air navigation, calling for a firm international stance to halt the attacks and hold those responsible accountable.
Kuwait reaffirmed its absolute solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its full support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to protect its security and stability and preserve its sovereignty.
The ministry stressed that Saudi Arabia’s security was an integral part of Kuwait’s security and that of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
It also extended Kuwait’s sincere condolences to the family of the victim and wished those injured a speedy recovery.
