KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait has strongly condemned drone attacks targeting Saudi Arabia’s East-West Pipeline in the Riyadh and Madinah regions, with the drones originating from Iraqi territory.
In a statement, Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attacks caused human injuries and material damage, describing them as a flagrant violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and a breach of international law and international humanitarian law.
The ministry also condemned the attacks as an assault on the security of energy supplies and warned that such actions represent a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region.
Kuwait called on the Iraqi government to take all necessary measures to ensure that its territory is not used as a launchpad for attacks against Saudi Arabia, and to work to stop such attacks and prevent their recurrence.
The Foreign Ministry reaffirmed Kuwait’s absolute solidarity with Saudi Arabia, stressing its support for the Kingdom and for all measures it takes to protect its sovereignty, security and stability and safeguard its interests.
