Kuwait concludes 13th International Sailing Championship

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 18: The 13th Kuwait International Sailing Championship organized by the Sailing, Rowing and Kayak Boarding Committee concluded today at the Kuwaiti Maritime Sports Club. 11 teams participated in the championship.

Tunisian Idris Dardouri won first place in the general category while Omani Tamim Al Balushi came second and Egypt’s Karma Mohammed third. Hood Saad of Oman won the first place in the Junior category followed by his country mate Hassan Ali while Kuwaiti contestant Abdullah Al-Failakawi finished third.

In womens category Egypt’s Karma Mohamed was crowned first in the junior followed by Bahrain’s Malak Al-Dosari second and Egypt’s Talia Mohamed came third.
In (Laser Acca 6) category competition for men Kuwait’s Ali Al-Failakawi won first place, followed by Emirates Hamza Al-Ali in second place, then Egypt’s Mahmoud Tombly in third place. Also Egypts Kholoud Mansi won the first place in the (Laser Acca 6) category for women, followed by the Venezuelan Maria Reis, and Bahrain’s Lulwa Khalil third.

the club’s general secretary, Khaled Al-Foudari stated that 83 male and female players from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia, Italy, France and Venezuela participated in the race. He appreciated the role of the General Sports Authority and its support for organizing this event, thanking the sponsors, as well as the Ministry of Information, which covered the tournament
