DUBAI, Oct 15: The Kuwaiti national team wrapped up their training sessions this evening at their camp in the UAE, making final preparations for their upcoming friendly match against the Syria. This friendly is part of their groundwork for the 2026 World Cup and 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. In their first friendly match, Al-Azraq suffered a narrow defeat against the United Arab Emirates.

The team’s Portuguese coach, Rui Pinto, has been focused during recent training on rectifying the errors made by certain players. He has urged the team to meticulously follow instructions, put their performance against the Emirates behind them, and strive to deliver a convincing and standout performance.

This is especially crucial as this will be Al-Azraq’s final match before they kick off their qualifying campaign in mid-November. On the other hand, the Syrian national team’s Argentine coach, Hector Cuper, has called up Youssef Muhammad to join the squad due to the injury sustained by Omar Maidani in their recent match. After a thorough examination by the national team’s medical staff, it was determined that Omar Maidani had a strain in the adductor longus muscle of his right thigh, requiring a 10-day period of rest and physical therapy.

Cuper has unveiled the list of players who will take on Al-Azraq, including Ibrahim Alama, Ahmed Madaniyah, Amjad Al-Sayed, Maxime Sarraf, Amr Janiyat, Abdel-Rahman Wais, Moayed Al-Kholy, Thaer Kroma, Saad Ahmed, Moayed Al-Ajan, Khaled Kardghli, Mahmoud Al-Mawas, Ammar Ramadan, Mohamed Hallaq, Fahd Youssef, Omar Al-Somah, Omar Khribin, Mardik Mardikian and Yassin Samia.
