Kuwait’s tourism industry is poised for growth through strategic national initiatives.
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 6: The Permanent Committee for Celebrating National Holidays and Occasions, in its seventh meeting held at Seif Palace, chaired by Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, discussed a number of items on its agenda, which included several presentations, most notably a comprehensive overview of the “Visit Kuwait” platform and its services related to artificial intelligence technologies, along with the interactive map in its pilot version, reports Al- Seyassah daily. The meeting was held in the presence of Head of the Volunteer Work Center Sheikha Amthal Al-Ahmad, and representatives from various government entities.
Minister Al-Mutairi affirmed the importance of the “Visit Kuwait” platform in promoting tourism and cultural events as an advanced digital interface that reflects Kuwait’s image both domestically and internationally, providing tourists with all the information they need in a modern and comprehensive way. The committee discussed the proposal to open popular cafes during the upcoming winter season and decided to continue discussing the technical aspects of the project at the next meeting.
The committee also reviewed a presentation on the “GeoPark” project, the first initiative to establish a geological park in Kuwait, aimed at highlighting Kuwait’s environmental and scientific identity through events planned for the winter season of January 2026. The full project concept will be presented in November. The meeting also included a visual presentation on the “Arab World Week” event, scheduled to take place from November 13 to 22 at Al-Shaheed Park, with participation from the embassies of Gulf and Arab countries in Kuwait. The event will include Gulf and Arab folklore shows and exhibitions of distinctive historical artifacts from each country, aiming to promote cultural exchange and attract visitors and tourists.
