CAIRO, Oct 13: Kuwaiti Minister of Social Affairs, Family Affairs, and Childhood, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, underscored Kuwait’s dedication to strengthening joint Arab efforts in social and developmental fields that promote human rights and social justice.

Her remarks came during the 82nd session of the Executive Bureau of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, held Monday at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.

Opening her speech, Dr. Al-Huwailah expressed profound sorrow over the tragic death of three members of Qatar’s Amiri Diwan in a car accident in Sharm El-Sheikh. She extended heartfelt condolences to the victims' families and wished a swift recovery for those injured.

Kuwait takes pride in actively participating in the session, which addresses critical social and developmental issues. Dr. Al-Huwailah voiced hope that the meeting’s outcomes would advance social justice, empower women, girls, and persons with disabilities, and promote gender equality.

She highlighted that the session will finalize the agenda for the upcoming 45th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs and prepare for the 2025 Doha World Summit for Social Development. The minister called for active Arab participation and the sharing of experiences to showcase development achievements in social care.

Emphasizing Kuwait’s commitment, Dr. Al-Huwailah stated that the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, and the Public Authority for the Affairs of Persons with Disabilities are closely monitoring the implementation of Arab Council decisions. She stressed the importance of coordination that respects diversity and ensures social justice.

Concluding her address, the minister extended gratitude to Egyptian Minister of Social Solidarity and Head of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, Dr. Maya Morsy, for her warm hospitality and excellent organization. Dr. Al-Huwailah also praised Egypt’s pivotal role in hosting the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit and its ongoing efforts to end the conflict in Palestine.
