KUWAIT CITY, Nov 6: The Kuwait College of Science and Technology is set to compete against American University in the quarter-finals of the Warba Bank Volleyball League as part of the third sports tournament for higher education, organized by the Kuwait School Sports and Higher Education Federation.
Meanwhile, Kuwait University will square off against the Saad Al-Abdullah Academy for Security Sciences. The matches are scheduled to take place in the Gulf University hall, and the victors of these two encounters will secure a spot in the semi-finals, where they will meet Kuwait Technical College, the reigning champions from the previous edition, along with the Public Authority for Applied Education, who are the champions of the second group.
Khaled Al-Madhkoor, a member of the Supreme Committee for the Third Sports Games for Higher Education, emphasized the significance of the preliminary round competitions in the group stage, highlighting the fierce competition among all participating teams striving to earn qualification for the quarter-finals. He explained that this season, the Warba Bank Volleyball League is employing a format where the first-place team directly advances to the final, while the quarter-finals will feature matches between the second and third-placed teams from each group, with the victors moving on to the semi-finals.
In another sporting event, within the Warba Bank Football League competitions for the secondary stage in the Farwaniya region, Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh High School faced a 5-1 defeat at the hands of Shujaa Ibn Al-Aslam High School. Hammoud Al-Jaber High School secured a spot in the next round after winning 5-0 against Murshid Al-Bathal High School in Al-Rehab area. Today, they will meet Al-Sabah High School, along with Thunayan Al-Ghanem, while Salman Al-Farsi Secondary School will face off against Labeed Bin Rabia.
In the Jahra Educational Zone, Youssef Al-Athbi High School earned their place in the semi-finals by defeating Bin Qais 3-0, while Saad Al-Abdullah High School was beaten by Al-Waha High School 2-0. Today, Urwa Bin Al-Zubair High School will compete against Sabah Al-Nasser, and the second match will see Muhammad Abdullah High School take on Al-Muhaini with Khalid bin Saeed.
