KUWAIT CITY, Aug 29: Kuwait’s General Directorate of Coast Guard, represented by the Maritime Security Department, carried out a wide-ranging field campaign in the eastern region, specifically at Naq’at Shamlan, as part of efforts to strengthen security and safety along the country’s maritime and coastal areas. The campaign was conducted in coordination with the Public Security Directorate, the General Fire Force, the Environmental Police Department, the Environment Public Authority and the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources, with teams inspecting the area, checking individuals and vessels and monitoring possible violations.
The campaign resulted in the following:
- 152 individuals were investigated and their details verified.
- 32 abandoned vessels were identified and referred for further action.
- 3 violations were recorded by the General Fire Force.
- 2 individuals were apprehended after being found in an intoxicated state.
- 1 individual was arrested after an outstanding arrest warrant was discovered.
The participating authorities took the necessary legal and administrative measures, with each agency handling cases within its jurisdiction. The General Directorate of Coast Guard said it would continue conducting field campaigns in cooperation with relevant government bodies to detect violations, enforce regulations and enhance security and safety in Kuwait’s maritime and coastal areas.
