KUWAIT CITY, May 14: Kuwait’s sporting landscape was lifted further as Kuwait Club secured the AFC Challenge League title, defeating Cambodia’s PKR Svay Rieng 4-3 in a thrilling final at Jaber Al Ahmad International Stadium.

The victory also secured Kuwait Club a place in next season’s AFC Champions League 2, while second place in the domestic league will enter the qualifying play-offs, and the third-placed team will feature in the AFC Challenge League.

Kuwait Club President Khaled Al-Ghanem dedicated the victory to Kuwait’s martyrs, describing it as a gesture of gratitude to those who sacrificed for the nation.

He also praised the players’ commitment throughout the competition and thanked the technical, administrative, medical staff, and supporters, while singling out vice president of football operations Adel Aqla for his key behind-the-scenes role in the club’s success.

Kuwait Football Association President Sheikh Ahmad Al-Yousef also congratulated Kuwait Club, praising both the organization of the final and the club’s consistent displays, which underscore Kuwait’s status in Asian football.
