KUWAIT CITY, Feb 28: Kuwait Club was crowned champion of the sixth edition of the Handball Super Cup, securing the title for the fourth time in club history after a 39-33 victory over Burgan at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Indoor Sports Complex.
Al-Salmiya claimed third place with a 36-35 win over Al-Qadisiya in extra time, following a 29-29 draw at the end of regulation.
The medal ceremony was attended by Acting Handball Federation President Shabib Al-Hajri, Secretary General Qaed Al-Adwani, Board Member Talal Al-Otaibi, Kuwait Club President Khaled Al-Ghanem, and Burgan Club President Anwar Al-Otaibi. The officials presented medals to the top three finishers and handed the championship trophy to Kuwait Club captain Abdullah Al-Khamees.
Kuwait Club continues its march toward a potential 14th consecutive league title, once again confirming its dominance over domestic handball. The team has controlled most local competitions in recent years in what has become an unprecedented era of success.
Powered by Saif Al-Adwani, Saleh Al-Mousawi, and Captain Abdullah Al-Khamees, the Kuwait Club controlled large stretches of the final. With strong support from Montenegrin professional Vladan and Qatari star Frankis Marzo, the team sealed a six-goal victory to lift the Super Cup trophy.
