KUWAIT CITY, Oct 20: Kuwait Club continued its dominance in the Zain Premier League, defeating Al-Shabab 4-0 in the fifth round to maintain 13 points at the top of the standings. Meanwhile, Al-Arabi kept up the chase, defeating Al-Salmiya 3-1 to stay close to the leader.

The victory marked Kuwait’s fourth win of the season, keeping it on track to defend its title for the fifth consecutive season and claim the 21st championship in the club’s history.

Al-Arabi achieved a double boost by beating Al-Salmiya 3-1, knocking it down from second place while maintaining a two-point gap behind Kuwait. The “Green” team bounced back after a 0-0 draw with Kazma in the fourth round, recording its third win of the season.

Al-Salmiya, now with 9 points, suffered its second defeat, slipping to fourth place. Similarly, Kazma (9 points) capitalized on Al-Qadsia’s struggles, earning a 1-0 victory to rise three places in the standings, keeping its title hopes alive for the first time in 30 years.

Al-Qadsia continued its decline, suffering a second straight loss, dropping to fifth with 7 points, six points behind leader Kuwait Club. Its inconsistent performances over the first five rounds have disappointed fans.

Al-Shabab (7 points) also recorded their second defeat, falling to sixth, while Al-Fahaheel (6 points) emerged as a winner from this round, breaking a three-match losing streak and moving away from the relegation zone.

Al-Jahra, eighth in the table, notched their first win of the season, defeating Al-Tadhamon 1-0, while the “Blue of Farwaniya” dropped to ninth with the same points.

Al-Nasr remains at the bottom of the league with zero points, enduring their fifth consecutive loss and scoring just one goal all season.

The “Al-Anabi” team faces a serious relegation threat unless their coaching staff, management, and players find a solution to secure their first victory and boost morale.
