KUWAIT CITY, Nov 8: Kuwait Club took the lead in the basketball league after a commanding 119-68 victory over Al-Nasr in the third round, which also featured Al-Sulaibikhat’s impressive 122-89 win over Al-Arabi.

The round kicked off last Thursday with Al-Qadsia securing a hard-fought 101-97 win over Kazma, while Al-Qurain cruised past Al-Sahel 113-60.

Kuwait Clubnow sits at the top of the standings with 6 points from 3 wins and no losses, followed by Kazma, Al-Qadsia, Al-Qurain, and Al-Sulaibikhat, each with 5 points. Al-Nasr is sixth with 4 points, Al-Arabi seventh with 3 points (ahead of Al-Sahel on point difference), while Al-Sahel remains last with 3 points.

The league, featuring 8 teams, is structured in three rounds. The top four teams advance to the semifinals, where the first-place team meets the fourth and the second-place team faces the third in a best-of-three series. The first team to win two games moves on to the final.

Kuwait Club dominated Al-Nasr from the start, with the first quarter ending 44-15, the second 76-36, and the third 97-57, before sealing the match at 119-68.

Meanwhile, Al-Sulaibikhat’s convincing 112-89 victory over Al-Arabi highlighted its determination to secure a semifinal spot.
