KUWAIT CITY, Oct 24: Kuwait Club maintained its impressive form in the Zain Premier League with a resounding 6-2 victory over host Tadamon in the sixth round, extending its lead at the top of the standings.

The defeat marked Tadamon’s sixth consecutive loss, prompting the club to part ways with Bosnian coach Igor Remetic and appoint Adel Marzouk to take charge of the Farwaniya-based side.

Remetic became the second coach to leave his post this season, following Croatian coach Goran Sablic’s departure from Al-Arabi.

Kuwait Club moved to 16 points after recording its fourth straight victory and its third consecutive emphatic win. It had beaten Sulaibikhat 7-1 in the fifth round and Nasr by the same scoreline in the fourth.

Yassine Khenissi and Amro Abdel Fattah scored twice each, while Mohammed Daham and Abdullah Al-Qarzein added one goal apiece. Ahmed Shabib and Abdulrahman Al-Rashidi scored for Tadamon.

Kuwait Club will now turn its attention to continental action, with training scheduled to resume

Kazma kept the pressure on the leader with a 2-1 victory over Sulaibikhat at Al-Sadaqa and Al-Salam Stadium.

Sulaibikhat took the lead through Abdullah Al-Awadhi before Bader Tareq equalised for Kazma. Shabib Al-Khaldi then scored the winner to secure all three points.

The victory lifted Kazma to 14 points in second place, while Sulaibikhat remained on three points.

The Kuwait Football Association (KFA) has announced the league schedule from the seventh round through the end of the first phase, with matches set to continue until mid-December.

The competition will then pause until January as Kuwait prepares for the AFC Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia, scheduled to run from January 5 to February 7.

The KFA also confirmed the dates for the remaining matches of last season’s His Highness the Amir Cup.

The quarterfinals will begin on November 25, when Salmiya faces Tadamon. Two more ties are scheduled for November 26, with Qadsia taking on Fahaheel and Al-Arabi meeting Khaitan.

Kuwait Club will face the winner of the Qadsia–Fahaheel tie in the semifinals, while the winners of the Salmiya–Tadamon and Al-Arabi–Khaitan matches will meet in the other semifinal.
