KUWAIT CITY, Oct 13: Kuwait Club has added Swedish player Jacob Link to its first-team volleyball roster as part of efforts to strengthen the squad for the resumption of the 2025-2026 season and the upcoming 2026-2027 campaign.
Link becomes the team’s second foreign professional, joining Brazilian Marcos Junior. The Swedish player brings experience from spells in the Italian and Bahraini leagues.
The signing is part of Kuwait Club’s wider rebuilding strategy following the lengthy suspension of local competitions since early March due to regional events. The club is focused on preparing a competitive squad for the remaining fixtures of the previous season and the challenges of the new campaign, with domestic competitions set to resume on October 22.
Kuwait Club had previously appointed Argentine coach Ruben Wolochin to lead the team and strengthened its local contingent with the recruitment of Abdulaziz Shaker and Talal Al-Salman. These moves underline the club’s determination to remain competitive in domestic and regional tournaments.
The league title is a major target for Kuwait Club this season, as the top two finishers will qualify for the West Asia Club Championship early next year.
The Whites are also seeking a place in the Arab Clubs Championship, scheduled for March. The top two teams in the domestic cup competition will secure qualification for the tournament.
