KUWAIT CITY, Dec 16: Kuwait Club reclaimed the top spot in Group B of the West Asian Basketball League (Gulf Super League) after a commanding 93-58 victory over Qatar’s Al-Arabi at Lusail Hall, during the fourth round of group matches.
With the win, Kuwait Club’s points total rose to 7, while Al-Arabi sits fourth and last with 5 points.
Kuwait Club dominated from the opening tip to the final buzzer. Mohamed Adnan scored 11 points, including three three-pointers in the first quarter. American player Jamal Jones (2.03 m) effectively neutralized Al-Arabi’s Bahraini star Mustafa Rashid “Mosty” (1.77 m), preventing him from taking his trademark three-point shots and forcing him out of rhythm—he left scoreless after scoring 29 points in the previous encounter in Kuwait.
Adnan and Jones were not the only standout performers. Alexander Al-Ghais added 11 points, while Imran Johar, Charlie Moore, and Geoffrey Laverge also delivered impressive performances throughout all four quarters.
Al-Arabi’s coach, Tunisian Hatem Mamlouk, struggled to find solutions in the absence of key center Almedin Kikanovic, who remained on the bench due to injury.
The score by quarters reflected Kuwait Club’s dominance: 24-11, 18-11, 22-15, and 29-21.
