Kuwait Club Prevails: Victory Over Al-Muharraq in Basketball Showdown

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 2: In the 35th Arab Club Basketball Championship held in Doha, the Kuwaiti team, Al-Kuwait, emerged victorious by defeating their Bahraini counterparts, Al-Muharraq, with an impressive score of 82-61.

Jaafar Hussein, the team manager of Al-Kuwait Club, shared his thoughts on the match in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA). He expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance against Bahrain’s Al-Muharraq, particularly highlighting the presence of two new players on the team. Hussein emphasized that in the opening match of any tournament, the result holds greater importance than the technical aspect of the game.

Hussein also added that the team has additional matches in the tournament where they can demonstrate both strong results and an elevated technical level. He pointed out that Kuwait is the defending champion of the tournament, adding to the team’s determination to excel.

The Arab Club Basketball Championship is currently hosted by Qatar and began on a previous day, running until October 12. The tournament features 18 Arab teams divided into four groups.

Group 1 includes Qatar’s “Qatar,” Bahrain’s “Muharraq,” Palestine’s “Al-Bureij Services,” and Kuwait’s “Kuwait.”

Group 2 comprises Egypt’s “Al-Ittihad Alexandria,” Oman’s “Seib,” Qatar’s “Al-Ahly,” Lebanon’s “Dynamo,” and Algeria’s “Ittihad.”

Group 3 consists of Kuwait’s “Al-Qadisiyah,” Yemen’s “Sanaa Unit,” Morocco’s “Salé Association,” and Saudi Arabia’s “Al-Fateh.”

Finally, Group 4 features Libya’s “Al-Ittihad,” Iraq’s “Degla Al-Jamaa,” Morocco’s “Majd Tangier,” Lebanon’s “Beirut,” and Egypt’s “Al-Ahly.”

These teams will compete fiercely in their respective groups to secure their positions in the tournament, with the ultimate goal of claiming the championship title.
