KUWAIT CITY, Oct 20: Kuwait Club kicks off its journey in the Asian Basketball League – Gulf Region “Super League” today, facing Al-Arabi of Qatar at 7:00 PM at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex, in the opening round of Group B.
The reigning champion of the 37th Arab Clubs Championship and holder of ten Super Cup titles aims to extend its dominance at the regional level. It hopes to overcome last season’s setback, when the Saudi federation blocked its qualification to the tournament’s final stages, preventing it from competing with Asia’s top clubs in the Final Eight.
Kuwait Club enters the Super League in top form, having completed a training camp in Serbia, where it played six competitive matches, followed by participation in the Arab Clubs Championship in Dubai, which it won convincingly. Recently, it retained the local Super Cup, defeating Al-Qadsia 122–99.
Kuwait Club's recent performances highlight strong readiness, advanced technical skills, and peak physical condition, signaling that the “White” team is focused solely on winning the Asian Super League Cup. The squad has been further strengthened by the signing of French star Geoffrey Lauvergne (2.11m), adding extra firepower to their roster.
