Kuwait Club defender blocks a shot from Al-Qadisiya player.

KUWAIT CITY, May 14: Kuwait Club aims to clinch the basketball league title as it faces off against Al-Qadisiya at 7:30 PM today at Al-Ittihad Hall in the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Indoor Hall Complex in the third match of the Playoff final round.

In the previous encounter, Kuwait Club narrowly won 88-86, following its decisive 96-69 triumph in the opener. This places it on the cusp of securing the title for the seventh consecutive season.

Despite Al-Qadisiya's commendable performance in the recent match following the return of their American professionals, Illinois and Lowry, from injury, Kuwait managed to maintain its edge and clinch its second victory.

In a related development, the draw has placed Kuwait Club and Kazma in the same group (second) for the West Asian Basketball League Championship's final round. They will be joined by Iranian Gorgan and Indian Tamilnadu, while the first group comprises Bahrain’s Manama, Lebanese Riyadi, Al-Hikma, and Kazakhstan’s Astana.

The tournament, adopting a group format, will take place in the Qatari capital, Doha, from May 25 to June 1. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals.
