KUWAIT CITY, Jan 13: Kuwait Club looks to extend its lead in the Zain Premier League when it faces Al-Jahra today at 4:10 PM at Jaber Al-Mubarak Stadium. Later, Al-Salmiya will take on Al-Nasr at 6:45 PM at Thamer Stadium, as part of the 11th round of the competition.
The round continues tomorrow with Al-Qadisiya vs Al-Shabab at Mohammed Al-Hamad Stadium and Al-Arabi vs Al-Fahaheel at Sabah Al-Salem Stadium. The 11th round concludes the following day with Al-Tadhamon vs Kazma at Al-Oula Stadium.
League leader Kuwait Club (26 points) is looking to secure another win, maintain its undefeated streak, and move closer to its 21st league title. The “White” team comes off a strong run, having qualified for the Crown Prince Cup semifinals, and will look to repeat their 4-1 first-round victory over Al-Jahra.
Al-Jahra (8th, 7 points), meanwhile, hopes to pull off an upset against the league leader and gain a crucial result to boost its fight against relegation.
Al-Salmiya (6th, 13 points) is eager to bounce back from a poor run, having gone winless in the last six rounds with two draws and four losses. The “Sky Blues” also aim to replicate their first-round 2-0 victory over Al-Nasr.
Al-Nasr, currently at the bottom with 4 points, enters the match with high morale after qualifying for the Crown Prince Cup semifinals, where it will face Kuwait Club. The “Maroon” team is also seeking revenge against Al-Salmiya, buoyed by their 0-0 draw with Al-Qadisiya in the 10th round.
