Kuwait Club hosts Sharjah in the West Asia Super League

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 17: Kuwait Club will host Sharjah from the UAE today at 7:00 p.m. at the Kuwait Basketball Federation Hall in Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex. The match is part of the third round of Group B in the West Asia Super League for the Gulf region, known as “Wasl.”

Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ula currently leads the group with 5 points from two wins and one loss, followed by Qatar’s Al-Arabi with 4 points. Kuwait Club and Sharjah are tied with 3 points each, holding one win and one loss.

Kuwait Club opened the competition with a narrow 78–83 loss to Al-Arabi but bounced back with a 113–108 victory over Al-Ala in the second round. Today, the team aims to secure its second consecutive win and reclaim the top spot in the group.

Under the leadership of Serbian coach Dusan Stojkovic, Kuwait Club is determined to prove itself as a serious contender for both the Gulf title and the West Asia championship.

Meanwhile, Kuwait’s national 3x3 basketball teams are heading to Manama, Bahrain, to compete in the Gulf Youth 3x3 Championship, which begins on November 19 and concludes the following day.

The delegation is led by acting Secretary-General and 3x3 Committee Chair Owaid Al-Enezi, alongside team administrator Khalid Bouzbar, coach Dr. Talal Al-Kallaf, and youth players Mohammed Al-Shammari, Ahmed Al-Rashid, Omar Al-Eissa, and Amir Asadullah. The women’s team includes Ghalia Mirza, Shaikha Bou Marzouq, Widad Al-Zaid, and Manar Al-Mutairi.

Al-Enezi emphasized the federation’s goal of achieving strong results in 3x3 basketball, noting that Blue Team players have consistently reached the podium in past competitions.
