KUWAIT CITY, Dec 1: Kuwait Club has officially signed an agreement with the Arab Handball Federation to host the 42nd Arab Gulf Handball Cup Winners’ Championship, scheduled to take place at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Indoor Complex from February 7 to 17.
The signing ceremony was held at the Kuwait Handball Federation headquarters in the Martyr Fahad Al-Ahmad Center in Daiya, attended by Arab Handball Federation Secretary-General Fakher Al-Ghashi, Ali Al-Ayawat, and Acting President of the Kuwait Handball Federation Shabib Al-Hajri, Secretary Qaid Al-Adwani, and Kuwait Club Handball Director Samih Al-Hajri.
The tournament will be organized under the supervision of the Arab Handball Federation after the expiration of the Gulf Handball Committee’s mandate. This provides the championship with full legal backing, particularly following a Gulf state's formal request to host the event.
Fakher Al-Ghashi noted that the Kuwait Club was selected due to its proven experience and strong capabilities in successfully hosting major competitions, as seen in the last two editions of the Arab Club Championship. Their achievements made the club a natural choice to host this year’s Gulf championship.
He expressed full confidence in the success of this Gulf gathering on Kuwait’s “land of friendship and peace.”
Shabib Al-Hajri emphasized that all resources and facilities will be provided to ensure the championship’s success, reaffirming Kuwait Handball’s strong reputation in organizing tournaments at both club and national levels.
Kuwait Club Handball Director Samih Al-Hajri extended his gratitude to the Arab Federation for trusting the “White Fortress” with hosting duties for the 42nd edition of the competition. He noted that the club’s leadership, headed by Chairman Khaled Al-Ghanem, is committed to delivering a successful event and overcoming any challenges.
