KUWAIT CITY, Feb 21: Kuwait Club claimed a hard-fought 87-82 victory over Kazma in their postponed second-round league fixture at the Kuwait Basketball Association Hall in the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex. In another Round 15 encounter, Al-Qurain defeated Al-Sulaibikhat 89-73 to confirm its place in the Final Four.
The win keeps Kuwait Club firmly on top of the standings with 28 points from 14 consecutive victories, maintaining itsunbeaten record. Qadsia, Kazma, and Al-Qurain trail with 25 points each, while Al-Sulaibikhat remains on 22 points and is officially out of contention for qualification. Al-Nasr and Al-Arabi follow with 17 points apiece, and Al-Sahel sits last with 15.
As a result, Kuwait Club, Qadsia, Kazma, and Al-Qurain have all secured qualification to the Final Four. The league is contested over three rounds, with the top four teams advancing to a best-of-three playoff stage to determine the champion.
The showdown between Kuwait Cluband Kazma lived up to expectations, featuring high intensity and competitiveness from the opening tip-off. Kazma’s strong display highlighted its potential to challenge in the decisive stages. Kuwait Club’s French standout Lofrén led his side with 19 points, while Kazma’s Serbian scorer Mitkovic topped the game with 22 points.
Meanwhile, Al-Qurain reinforced its credentials by completing a double over Al-Sulaibikhat, cruising to a 16-point victory that officially booked its semifinal berth and ended its opponents’ playoff hopes.
