Kuwait Club defeats Barnet as Kuwaiti Clubs continue preseason preparations

LONDON, Aug 9: Kuwait Club defeated English side Barnet 3-1 in a friendly during its training camp in London.

Mohannad Al-Mahameed, Faisal Zayed and Mohammed Dahham scored for the “Whites,” who were playing their third friendly of the camp.

The team previously lost 2-0 to Portsmouth and 1-0 to Milton Keynes. The team is preparing to defend its Premier League title, with the new season scheduled to begin on Aug. 25, while also getting ready for its AFC Champions League Two campaign.

Al-Arabi coach Goran Sablic has increased the intensity of training as the “Greens” prepare to face India’s East Bengal the day after tomorrow in the AFC Champions League Two playoff round.

Al-Arabi arrived in Kolkata on Friday and began training the following day. The sessions have focused on maintaining high intensity and finalizing the lineup for the crucial encounter.

The team held its main preseason camp in Erzurum, Turkey, where it played four friendlies. Al-Arabi lost 3-1 to Egypt’s Pyramids and 3-1 to Erzurumspor, drew 1-1 with Vanspor, and ended the camp with a 4-0 victory over Ümitedspor’s reserve side.

Al-Qadsia will play its third friendly of its Turkish training camp tomorrow when it takes on Algerian side ES Setif.

The “Yellows” opened their friendly schedule with a 3-1 victory over Saudi Arabia’s Al-Orouba before drawing 1-1 with Al-Zulfi.

Al-Qadsia is preparing for its upcoming AFC Challenge League campaign.

Al-Fahaheel suffered a 3-1 defeat to Egyptian club Al-Mokawloon Al-Arab in a friendly played two days ago during the “Braves’” training camp in Alexandria.

The Kuwaiti side had opened its friendly schedule with a 1-1 draw against Al-Sekka Al-Hadid.

Al-Salmiya will face Algerian side ASO Chlef this evening in its third friendly of its training camp in Izmit, Turkey.

The “Samawe” began its friendly schedule with a goalless draw against Qatar’s Al-Markhiya before losing 3-0 to Egyptian club ZED FC.

Kazma recorded a 4-1 victory over Saudi side Al-Raed in its second friendly two days ago in Turkey.

Nasser Mohammedouh, Shabib Al-Khaldi, Torles and Jrah Al-Halili scored for the “Orange.”

Kazma previously drew 2-2 with Qatar’s Al-Waab and will face Bahrain’s Khalidiya this evening before completing its friendly program against Algerian side ASO Chlef next Thursday.

Kazma is preparing for the new domestic season as well as the Gulf Champions League.
