Kuwait Club completes the signing of three American basketball players

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 24: Kuwait Club has completed its foreign-player recruitment for the first basketball team, signing Americans Chinanu Onuaku, Christian Brown and Day Granite to strengthen the squad ahead of a busy period.

The trio will bolster the team as it prepares for several key competitions, led by next month’s Asian “Final Eight” tournament in Lebanon, as well as the completion of last season’s competitions and the start of the new campaign.

Kuwait Club’s management, headed by basketball director and vice president Bader Al-Osaimi, is looking to build a squad capable of maintaining the team’s domestic dominance while mounting a serious challenge for regional and international titles.

Onuaku, a 2.10-meter center, started his professional career with the Houston Rockets before gaining experience in European and Asian competitions.

Brown, also 2.10 meters tall, can play both forward positions. He began his college career at the University of Tennessee and went on to play for several clubs, most recently Interanik in Lebanon and Al-Ittihad Ahli Aleppo in Syria.

Granite, a 1.88-meter point guard, began his college career at the University of Miami before transferring to Duquesne University, where he made a strong impression in US college basketball. He later moved to Europe, playing in Spain, Turkey, and Greece.

The arrivals strengthen Kuwait Club’s status as a major force in domestic basketball. The Whites have won the league title for seven consecutive seasons and will now look to extend their success on the regional stage when they compete in Lebanon next month.
