Kuwait Club and Sagesse players are fighting for the ball.

BEIRUT, Oct 4: Kuwait Club’s basketball team was eliminated from the West Asia Super League (WASL) after suffering an 87-74 defeat to Lebanon’s Sagesse in their semifinal clash in Beirut.

The “White” subsequently faced Saudi Arabia’s AlUla in the third-place playoff after AlUla lost 82-78 to Lebanon’s Riyadi in the other semifinal.

Kuwait Club made a strong start and worked to keep the deficit within striking distance, but lost focus during the decisive stages. The team also lacked the intensity needed to challenge Sagesse, particularly against the backdrop of a packed home crowd supporting the Lebanese side.

American duo Day-Day Grant and Christian Brown led Kuwait Club’s scoring with 20 points apiece, while Hamad Adnan and Mohammed Adnan added 11 points each.
