A glimpse of the friendly between Kuwait Club and Sharjah.

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 15: Kuwait Club defeated UAE side Sharjah 85-74 in a friendly match as part of the team’s training camp in the UAE ahead of the WASL Final 8 in Beirut.

The tournament is scheduled to run from Sept. 25 to Oct. 1, with Kuwait Club using the camp to fine-tune preparations and build understanding among its squad.

Under Serbian coach Dusan Stojkov, Kuwait Club fielded its new foreign signings alongside key local players. The club has recruited Americans Shinanu Onuaku, Christian Brown, and Dai Dai Grant, as well as Palestinian Sniper Sakakini.

Teams can register four foreign players for the competition, although only three are permitted to play at the same time.

Kuwait Club is drawn in Group A with Lebanon’s Al Riyadi, Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ittihad and India’s Railways. Group B features Saudi Arabia’s AlUla, Lebanon’s Sagesse, Qatar’s Al Arabi and Iran’s Shahrdari Gorgan.

Meanwhile, Qadsia has signed Ali Al-Hadhoud to bolster their roster for the new season.

The tall center came through Kuwait Club’s youth system and later played for the senior team before joining Al-Arabi two seasons ago.
