KUWAIT CITY, May 16: Kuwait Club and Al-Arabi will complete their training sessions today ahead of the Crown Prince Cup final, set to take place tomorrow at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium.

The Kuwait Football Association has postponed Kuwait Club’s and Al-Arabi’s league fixtures against Al-Fahaheel and Al-Tadamon, respectively, in Round 15 of the Zain Premier League. Both matches have been rescheduled for next Thursday.

Kuwait Club returned to training earlier this week after a one-day rest following their Asian Challenge League triumph, where they defeated Cambodia’s Svay Rieng 4-3 in the final.

Head coach Nebojsa Jovovic has opted to reduce the training intensity for players who featured in the continental final, aiming to prevent fatigue and muscle injuries, with full focus on retaining the Crown Prince Cup title.

On the other side, Al-Arabi boosted its preparations with a 2-0 friendly win over Al-Fahaheel at Sabah Al-Salem Stadium, thanks to goals from Ali Khalaf and Hussein Al-Aryan.

Coach Nasser Al-Shatti used the match to give opportunities to several young players, as part of his plans to integrate them into the first team in the future, while also relying mainly on local players amid the absence of several foreign professionals.

Al-Arabi is expected to enter a closed training camp after today’s evening session to enhance focus and minimize pressure as they chase a long-awaited title.

Meanwhile, the official pre-match press conference for the final will be held today at 12 noon at the Kuwait Football Association headquarters, featuring one coach and one player from each team.
