Kuwait Closes 4 Private Clinics Over Licensing Violations

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 3: Kuwait’s Ministry of Health has taken action against four private clinics as part of its ongoing inspection and enforcement campaign to ensure compliance with healthcare licensing regulations. The ministry said the measures were based on findings by the Health Licensing Department following examinations and audits of private healthcare facilities.

Among the violations, the ministry confirmed the cancellation of a private clinic's license after a third party was found exploiting and investing in the facility under its health license. A review of the investment contract revealed that the arrangement violated Article 15 of Ministerial Resolution No. 36 of 2024 and Paragraph 4 of Article 63 of Law No. 70 of 2020.

The Ministry of Health stressed that there would be no leniency toward the subletting or unauthorized third-party investment of health licenses and that legal action would be taken against establishments found in violation.

The ministry reaffirmed that the measures aim to strengthen oversight of private healthcare facilities, protect patients’ rights, and ensure the safety and quality of healthcare services in Kuwait.
