BEIRUT, Oct Kuwait’s Ammar Al-Tamimi captured the men’s singles title at the 30th Arab Squash Championship in Lebanon after a hard-fought 3–2 victory over compatriot Bader Al-Maghribi in the final. With this result, Kuwait swept the top two podium spots, while Iraq’s Mohammed Farman and Qatar’s Azlan Amjad earned the bronze medals.
The team competition kicked off the day before yesterday, where Kuwait’s national squad opened its campaign with a 3–0 win over Bahrain. The team featured Ali Al-Ramzi, Bader Al-Maghribi, and Abdullah Hani. Continuing their strong form, Kuwait defeated Lebanon 3–0 yesterday morning before taking on Palestine later in the evening.
Today marks a crucial stage in the tournament, with Kuwait set to face Qatar in the morning and then play a decisive title match against Iraq in the evening. Iraq will be aiming for its first-ever Arab Championship crown, while Kuwait’s players are determined to extend their dominance and clinch the team gold.
Representing Kuwait are Ammar Al-Tamimi, Ali Al-Ramzi, Bader Al-Maghribi, Abdullah Hani, Abdulrahman Al-Maghribi, and Jassim Al-Gharib, under the leadership of coaches Ahmed Al-Sayed and Falah Fayez, with the delegation headed by Waleed Al-Sumai’i and team manager Mishaal Al-Sharqawi.
