KUWAIT CITY, Dec 29: Abdullah Al-Rajhi, Deputy Director General for Aviation Safety, Air Transport and Aviation Security and official spokesperson for the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), has emphasised the need for travellers to ensure that their personal contact details are accurately entered when making travel bookings.
Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Monday, Al-Rajhi said passengers must provide their own phone numbers and email addresses when booking flights, whether reservations are made through travel and tourism agencies or directly with airlines. He stressed that travel agencies and airlines are not permitted to insert their own contact information in place of the traveller’s personal details.
Al-Rajhi explained that the requirement is based on Circular No. 31 of 2025 issued by the Civil Aviation Authority, which outlines the procedures for recording passengers’ contact information in booking systems. He urged all relevant parties, including airlines and travel agencies, to fully comply with the provisions of the circular.
He noted that the measure is intended to ensure that all flight-related notifications—such as delays, cancellations, and security or regulatory alerts—are delivered directly to passengers without the involvement of intermediaries.
Al-Rajhi added that travellers who find their contact information missing or incorrectly entered in their booking records can report the issue through the Sahl platform. To do so, users should access the “Civil Aviation” section, select “Electronic Services,” then choose “Air Transport Market Complaints,” and complete the required fields. The authority will then take the necessary action in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and circulars.
