KUWAIT CITY, May 21: A decades-old citizenship file has exploded into one of the most intricate forgery scandals uncovered in Kuwait, exposing a web of false lineage, fabricated identities, and dozens of illegitimate beneficiaries.
Investigations led by the Supreme Committee for Kuwaiti Citizenship, in coordination with the Citizenship Investigation Department, traced the case back to a man born in the 1930s who had three wives. While his first and second marriages were confirmed as legitimate—producing around 20 children—the third wife emerged as a central mystery, with no civil records, no official identity, and possibly no legal existence.
The first red flag was staggering: two individuals, “H” and “Kh,” listed as the man’s sons, were found to be only 12 and 13 years younger than their supposed father. The timeline alone pointed to an impossibility—and opened the door to a deeper investigation.
DNA testing soon dismantled the narrative completely.
Twelve of the verified children from the first two wives underwent genetic testing, confirming they were legitimate half-siblings. But when confronted with four additional individuals listed under their father’s file, all twelve gave the same answer: they did not know them, and they were not their brothers.
The official inheritance certificate delivered another blow—it contained no trace of the four disputed names.
What followed was a cascade of revelations.
DNA tests on the children of “H” and “Kh” definitively ruled out any biological connection to the family. The evidence—scientific, logical, documentary, and testimonial—aligned in one direction: the lineage had been fabricated.
Authorities moved decisively.
Citizenship was stripped from “H” and “Kh,” along with their dependents. In “H’s” case alone, the file extended to 39 individuals. “Kh” was linked to 42. Together, the forged network encompassed at least 81 people who had been registered under false citizenship claims.
Adding another layer of intrigue, “Kh” left the country in 2024 and has not returned, while one of the remaining suspects is deceased and another remains at large.
Despite the sweeping action, the file is far from closed.
Two additional individuals tied to the same mysterious third wife—who herself remains undocumented—are still under investigation. Authorities are also continuing DNA testing on remaining family members and conducting a full audit of the file before issuing final rulings.
What began as a routine review has unraveled into a full-scale exposure of systemic manipulation—where forged identities spanned generations, and a single file concealed one of the most elaborate citizenship deceptions in recent memory.
