KUWAIT CITY, May 8: Dr. Faisal Jalil Al-Saidi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Children’s Heart Charity Association and Head of the Department of Cardiac Surgery for Children and Adults for Congenital Defects at the Chest Diseases Hospital, has shed light on the society’s impactful endeavors to provide life-saving surgeries for underprivileged children around the globe.

Speaking about the society’s mission, Dr. Al-Saidi emphasized their commitment to performing surgical operations on heart patients from impoverished backgrounds across various countries. With a dedicated medical team equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the society has been able to carry out numerous free surgeries, thanks to the support of generous donors.

Dr. Al-Saidi recounted the harrowing scenes he witnessed during his international visits to perform surgeries on children with heart conditions. In one country alone, he encountered over 5,000 heart patients awaiting surgery, a staggering number that far surpasses the capacities of both charitable organizations and major hospitals. He expressed profound sadness at the urgency of these cases, where every minute is critical and can make a difference in the life of a child.

Highlighting the society’s outreach efforts, Dr. Al-Saidi mentioned several pioneering medical projects aimed at aiding those in need. These initiatives include providing surgical interventions for children with heart diseases in countries such as Yemen, Djibouti, Tanzania, Palestine, and other impoverished nations. The Children’s Heart Charity Association stands as a beacon of hope, recognized as the first charitable organization in Kuwait and the Arab world dedicated to treating children with heart ailments.
