KUWAIT CITY, Jan 15: The Kuwaiti International Islamic Charitable Organization inaugurated the “Kuwait Al Khair” residential village, on the coastal district of Al Mokha on the Red Sea in the Taiz Governorate, Yemen. This initiative, part of the “Kuwait Is Next to You” campaign, received funding from the “Tarahum Volunteer Team.”

Nasser Al-Bassam, the head of the Kuwaiti Tarahum Volunteer Team delegation in Yemen, said the residential village comprises 120 housing units, each featuring two rooms, a kitchen, and a courtyard.

Additionally, every housing unit is equipped with a solar system, water tank, and water drainage network. Shelter bags, bedding, and cooking tools were provided to support the well-being of all beneficiary families.

The “Kuwait Al-Khair” residential village significantly improved the living conditions of 120 families previously residing in makeshift straw houses and tents. They have now been relocated to secure homes, shielding them from the harsh conditions and offering a more dignified life.

Al-Bassam expressed gratitude to those who contributed to this humanitarian project, acknowledging the vital roles played by the International Islamic Charitable Organization, benefactors, supporters, and the Yemeni Communication Foundation for Human Development, which implemented the project.

Al-Bassam highlighted the ongoing projects, including the construction of a mosque, school, health center, bakery, and water tank tower, as well as endowment shops, all funded by the Tarahum Team and supervised by the Charitable Organization.

He also mentioned the initiation of a water network extension project for villages inhabited by displaced people, funded by Kuwaiti philanthropists and overseen by the Kuwaiti Tanmia Charitable Society.

Abdul-Jabbar Al-Zahzouh, the Second Deputy Head of the Political Bureau of the National Resistance, expressed gratitude to Kuwait’s Amir, government, and people, as well as the Tarahum Volunteer Team, the International Islamic Charitable Organization, and the Tanmia Charitable Society.

He praised Kuwait for its consistent support through humanitarian and development projects, emphasizing the profound impact on the lives of Yemenis and their gratitude for Kuwait’s steadfast solidarity in various circumstances.
