Kuwait Cabinet Condemns Iranian Attacks, Reviews National Security Measures

KUWAIT CITY, Mar 3: During its weekly meeting chaired by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullahness the Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad and the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled from leaders of brotherly and friendly countries, expressed concern for Kuwait following the recent Iranian attacks and condemning the violations of Kuwait’s sovereignty, airspace, and international law.

The Cabinet was informed of visits by the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to security authorities, reviewing strategies, diplomatic moves, and emergency readiness. His Highness the Prime Minister inspected state facilities, including Kuwait International Airport and the Ahmadi refinery, checking operational continuity, strategic stockpiles, and the condition of those injured in the attacks. The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, met with ministry leaders and visited the injured, emphasizing reliance on official information and adherence to government guidelines.

The Minister of Defense, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ali, affirmed the military’s readiness to counter drones and missiles and mourned two martyrs of naval operations. The Cabinet condemned the attack on the US Embassy as a flagrant violation of international norms and reviewed regional developments. Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Al-Jaber briefed the Cabinet on GCC ministerial meetings and joint statements with Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Jordan, and the US, expressing solidarity with countries targeted by Iranian aggression, including Saudi Arabia, Oman, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Jordan, and Cyprus.

The Cabinet also reviewed the emergency procedures of all ministries to ensure citizen safety, continuity of services, and operational readiness. It decided to remain in permanent session to monitor local and regional developments and tasked ministerial committees with studying and implementing key agenda items.
